Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. until service time. Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Mrs. Dreyfus, a Washington, resident, was a longtime Hattiesburg resident.

She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, where she was a member of the Altar and St. Anne's guilds. She was a member of the Hattiesburg Junior Auxiliary, Azalea Garden Club, Hattiesburg Country Club and the Ladies Golf Association. She was the widow of Robert M. "Bob" Dreyfus.

Hymie Greenberg retired merchant SHELBY Hymie Greenberg, 81, a retired merchant, died Thursday of heart failure at Chateau Manor Nursing Center. Graveside services are 2 p.m. today at Adas Israel Cemetery in Brownsville, Tenn.

Visitation is 10-11 a.m. today at FletcherNowell Funeral Home. Mr. Greenberg was a Jackson, native who attended Brownsville, schools. He was a World War II Army veteran.

In 1948, he moved to Shelby, where he operated The Leader Store for 40 years. He retired in 1988. Mr. Greenberg was a member of Adath Israel Temple congregation in Cleveland. Survivors include: sister, Ruth Greenberg of Shelby; brother, Sam Greenberg of Titusville, Fla.

Hattie Smithhart I Harper retired Westinghouse employee VICKSBURG Hattie Smithhart Harper, 87, a retired Westinghouse employee, died Thursday of heart failure at Vicksburg Convalescent Home. today at Wright Ferguson Funeral Home in Clinton with burial in Clinton Cemetery. Visitation is after 2:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. Lipsey was a Ruston, native and a graduate of Louisiana Tech and Baylor University.

She also studied in Geneva, Switzerland, and at Stetson University. She taught English from 1946 until her retirement in 1974. She served on the Publication Council and was a member of Late in her tenure at MC, she was chosen Sweetheart of the Track Team. She was a member of Clinton Baptist Church a and the American Association of University' Women. "She was a gifted teacher demanding, encouraging and compassionate," said her daughter, Laura Bradley.

"Her resolute character and lovely, cheerful countenance made her a legend at Mississippi College. Her memory is alive all over the country." Mrs. Lipsey was the widow of P.I. Lipsey Jr. She was assisted in her home by Luretha Burse of Clinton and Dorothy Thomas of Jackson.

Mayfield retired banker ATLANTA Carey T. Mayfield, 85, a retired banker, died Monday of Alzheimer's disease at Wesley Woods Care Center. Graveside services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Friendship Cemetery in Columbus, Miss. Mr.

Mayfield was active for many years in the business community of Galveston, Texas, where he served as president, chairman of the board and a director of Moody National Bank. He also served for many years as a director of American National Insurance Co. and the National Hotel Co. He was also a trustee of the Moody Foundation of Texas. He was a native of Wharton, Texas, but grew up in McComb, Miss.

He graduated from Mississippi College and from the Baylor University School of Law. He was a member of the State Bar of Texas. He was also a Navy officer during World War II. He was the widower of Betty Joe Mayfield. Survivors include: daughter, Joanna Mayfield Michell of Tyler, Texas; sons, Carey T.

Services are p.m. Saturday at Ott Lee Funeral Home with burial in Homewood Methodist Cemetery. Mrs. Middleton was a Homewood native and a longtime resident of Forest.

She was a member of Forest Baptist Church and was a former employee of the Bank of Forest and Community Bank in Forest. She was the widow of Novel Middleton. Survivors include: son, Johnny Middleton of Fort Worth, Texas; daughter, Beverly Kaseman of Peachtree City, brothers, Jack Tadlock of Forest and Paul Tadlock of Lake; sister, Mary Bailey of Florence; and five grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Southwest Christian Hospice, 7225 Lester Road, Union City GA 30291. Sadie Mae Scott homemaker CARTHAGE Sadie Mae Scott, 100, a homemaker, died Wednesday of heart failure at Carthage Health Care Center.

Services were Thursday at Wilcox Funeral Home with burial in Mount Zion Cemetery. Mrs. Scott was a member of Salem Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Survivors include: brother, Cullen Jackson of Baker, and sisters, Myrtle Pinter of Brandon, Jewell Ware of Moss Point and Lucille Thomas of Carthage. See DEATHS, 3B.
